Billy joined the Oklahoma National Guard, 45th Infantry Division after graduating Capitol Hill High School in 1955 and retired in 1988. He worked his way up through the ranks to Sargent Major in the intelligence branch. Billy enjoyed collecting whisky pitchers and firearms for 20 plus years. He was even a lifetime member of the NRA.
Billy is survived by his son, Donald L. Hughes; grandchildren, Jordon and Miranda Garner; brother, Kenneth Roy Hughes; sister, Linda Louise Hughes-Hurtt; and numerous nephews and nieces. Billy was preceded in death by his parents; son, Alan G. Hughes; and brothers, Donnie Hughes and Bobby Glenn Hughes.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Sunny Lane Cemetery.Arrangements under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Del City, Oklahoma.
