Billy Clay Spears, Sr, age 74 passed away April 29, 2008. Billy was born February 14, 1934 in Inman, Virginia to Jarrett Ballard Spears and Mattie McKinley(Thomas) Spears. Billy loved to work with his hands buy building or making things, he made a ring for granddaughter Kylene, he built a rabbit cage for his daughter-inlaw Nicki and also built his wife Mary a porch. He also made belt buckles for Billy Jr and several of his brothers. He loved to listen and sing country music. He started his granddaughter Sheena singing at the age of 3 yrs. He played the guitar,banjo, mandolin and the harmonica. He liked to travel and also go fishing with Billy Jr and his grandchildren, Jason, Kylene, and Sheena. He was a family man that loved to tease and play with his grandchildren and give his wife Mary a hard time. He is survived by the love of his life of 54 years: Mary; son: Billy Jr, and wife Nicki; grandchildren Kylene Spears, Sheena Spears, Jason Spears and his wife Shelba; 2 great grandchildren: Mallory, Cody, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and 13 brothers and sisters.
