She attended Capitol Hill High School and in her 20s attended the union apprenticeship to become an operating engineer. She was proud to be a part of the union for over 40 years, especially being one of the first women to be an operating engineer.
She loved to be outdoors, whether it be camping, fishing or gardening, anything to get a little dirty. She was blessed with three biological children but was the neighborhood mom and was a mother to so many more. That love of family carried on to her grandchildren and any other who may have needed a grandmother figure. She loved to watch all her grandchildren achieve their dreams and was lovingly known as Grandma Kay to so many. She was an avid lover of animals, may it be dogs, cats, birds or whatever else we would bring home. Her last love was Blue, her little baby as she would say.
Kay is survived by her daughters, Antrinette (Tiphanie) and husband, Shawn Vick, Michelle and husband, Benjamin White; daughter-in-law: Christina and husband, Jamie Haines; eleven grandchildren, Star Vick and spouse, Dallas, Autumn and husband, Jordan Searcy, Kye Vick, Skylar Russell, Keith and wife, Delanya Russell, Jaycen Haines, Bladen Russell, Elizabeth, Sara, Alice and Matthew White; great-grandchildren: Thatcher and Juniper Searcy; sister: Janice and husband, Tom Edmondson; and many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence and Dorothy; sisters: Renie and Ann; husband: Keith Russell; son: Jeff Russell.
Kay was fortunate enough to find Jesus in the last few weeks of her life. That brought a passion to spread God's word and praise Him with worship music.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Floyd Center (6900 NW 41st St, Bethany, OK 73008). There will be a barbeque to follow at the same location.
