He died as the result of a hit and run while riding his bicycle.
David placed high value on personal improvement and helping others grow. He earned his master's degree on May 3, 2021, passing his master's comprehensive exams with an 85% on his first try. David's life work revolved around helping others; first at DHS as a social worker and then later as a program manager of student support services at the University of Central Oklahoma, where he helped students achieve their educational aspirations.
David was selfless. He would stop what he was doing to help others. He had an open and warm personality, and never met a stranger. Only a friend he hadn't met yet.
He was quick to smile and laugh, and even quicker to offer help to anyone who needed it. He was very intelligent and resourceful, always wanting to help others by offering wise counsel.
As an avid gamer, David both played and ran tabletop role playing games since he was a teenager. Yet, his interests were multi-faceted and included such things as science fiction, fantasy, video games, politics, anthropology, history, music, astronomy, and photography. He was deeply passionate about each of them and would explore them to their fullest. He left many of us a large list of books to read. He had a wide collection of movie memorabilia including Star Trek, Star Wars, and Captain America. He loved spending time with family. David enjoyed cooking and was an amazing chef, but don't let him bring the stuffing. David was never late. He arrived precisely when he meant to. He is survived by his parents, Lawrence and Judy Harrison; brother, Nicholas Harrison; his partner Jodie Lime; and countless friends and cohorts.
We will miss you dearly.
