Our beloved Donald B Brewington went to be with his Lord on 2/7/12 after a noble battle with cancer. With his strength of faith he went peacefully and is now walking with his savior. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by Mary Noami Brewington, wife of 58 years, sister Gloria Rosario, daughters Debra Kiplinger and Jeanne Hood, 3 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandsons. Donald was born to Bee and Bertha Brewington on 1/1/36 in OKC,OK and was the oldest of 5 children all but 1 has passed before him but he has reunited with all of them in Heaven. Donald served his country in the Army National Guard 45th Infantry Division for 9 years. He retired from the City of OKC in 1992 after 31 years in the heavy equipment mechanic division. The First Baptist Church of Yukon has been his love for the last 10 years since he moved to Yukon where he served as Deacon and he spent many hours doing upkeep of the Church Park which has kept him young. He was always there to help those in need whether it be spiritual guidance or if it was a member who needed their yard mowed. His love for everyone was enviable and he gave all he had to anyone that asked and some who wouldn’t. Donnie as he was called will be missed by many, all in his immediate family but a great many more in his extended family. As a Father his guidance will be missed, as a Grandfather his compassion will be missed, as a Great-Grandfather his love and storytelling will be missed, as a member of his extended family just his love of the Lord and his never ending willingness to help one in need will be missed. Most missed will be the strength and love he has shared with his wife Mary for all these years. Donnie loved to hunt, fish, work on anything, and spend all the time he could with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His 5 Great-Grandsons have kept him busy in his final years and the joy of it all could be seen in his eyes. He spent his final days surrounded by many and had a Holiday season to remember with all his family. Donnie we know your suffering is now over and the Hand of God is now on you. We love you, we miss you, and we look forward to joining you one day in the Light of the Lord. Thank you for all the love over your 76 years on Earth and we know your light will shine on us until our time to join you is here. Services will be held Friday Feb. 10th at 10am at Sunny Lane Chapel and graveside will be at Dale Cemetery in Dale OK.
Arrangements under the direction of Sunny Lane Funeral Home, Del City, OK.
