Dorothy Overturf Rains

Dorothy (Overturf) Rains of Del City passed away October 14, 2013 at the age of 79. She was born September 5, 1934 in Grannis, AR to the union of Calvin H. and Lucille (Burrows) Overturf. She attended Midwest City High School and was a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University, the class of “56”, with an Associates degree in Home Economics. Her years of employment were at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma Paper Company, Regis, and Del Litho. She attended Del City Church of Christ and was a member of the CRCWA and the OCWA. Some of her hobbies were gardening and sewing but the ones she loved most was attending church, being a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Jack B. Rains; children, Shirley Welborn and husband Greg, Sandra Brakebill , Susan Thompson and husband Terry, Sonya Kluver and husband Quentin, Steven Rains and wife Leah, and Scott Rains; grandchildren, Taylor, Abby, and Olivia Welborn, Rusty, Curtis, and Kristen Brakebill, J.T. Thompson, Jennifer and Jeff Stursa, and Poppy Rains; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, George Overturf wife Barbara, Vernon Overturf and wife Helen, Henderson Overturf, and Sylvester Overturf; 13 nieces; and 21 nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Phyllis Seats and Martha Barnes; and brothers, Hartford, David, and Amos Overturf. Visitation will begin 8:00 a.m., Thursday at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel in Del City.
