Jessie Andrew Wallis passed away last Friday August 7, 2020 at the age of 89 years 4 months and 21 days, surrounded by his family. He was born the son of Jake Columbus Wallis and Lillian Hampton Wallis March 17, 1931 in McAlister, Oklahoma. His family moved to the Midwest City - Choctaw area in Jessie’s teenage years. After graduating from Choctaw High School, Jessie served four honorable years in the U.S. Navy. Jessie married Audrey LuFurn DeWitt July 20, 1956 and reared a family on the same property of his teen years. He went on to obtain a college degree and further education. He worked and retired from the Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base and was a Bi-Vocational Free Will Baptist minister for many, many years.
Jessie Wallis was preceded in death by his wife Audrey, in September of 1998, and later married Freda Woodruff in March of 1999 who has faithfully remained by his side these last 21 years.
Jessie was also preceded in death by his parents, and most of his siblings. He is survived by Freda Wallis of the home, daughter Lisa Newport and husband Jim of Midwest City, son Paul Wallis and wife Tami of Jones, a sister Peggy Barnhart of Okay, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and other family members and friends.
His generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
