Jimmie Mack Rogers, 88, who always had a smile on his face, went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2025. He was born on Nov. 8, 1936 in Crescent, OK to Clay and Ima (Marrs) Rogers. Raised in Crescent, Jim excelled in sports. He played full-back for the Crescent Tigers and even received a scholarship to play one year at Oklahoma A&M (OSU). After his short college stay, Jim decided to join the military. He planned to join the Navy, but the recruiter was out of the office and the Air Force recruiter signed him up (a decision that he was thankful for since he later found out he was prone to sea sickness). In the 4 years that he was in the Air Force, he got to see Hutchinson, KS (he was not impressed, but he was part of the rifle drill team) and Okinawa (he had fond memories and always wanted to go back). After the service, Jim went to work at W. W. Steel. In 1962, Jim married the love of his life, Charlotte Mosley. They met on a blind date set up by Jim’s dad. They spent 53 years together. During their life together, Jim worked for Tinker AFB as a fuel nozzle control on the F-111 and F-14. Jim and Charlotte retired from Tinker in 1990 and enjoyed traveling around the US with friends and family.
Jim loved God, his family, and sports! He played slow pitch softball for Del Baptist Temple Church league and Tinker intermural sports. After he retired, you could find Jim on the golf course. When he was home, he would watch NCAA football or professional golf. Jim loved his family. From coaching Jeanette in softball to helping Clayton with his Eagle Scout project, he was a dad that was always present in the lives of his kids. Then he had his grandsons! He was fiercely proud of Taylor and Jordan. If you saw him, you heard the latest in their lives. He was the best “Dada”! He taught them to fish, he came to their football and baseball games, their marching band contests, and their Steel Drum concerts. They were his pride and joy and he loved them fiercely. Most importantly, Jim loved God. He walked his faith and was a great example of a godly man.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Ima Rogers, brothers Carl Rogers and Roy Rogers, and his wife of 53 years, Charlotte Mosley Rogers. Those left to remember him, his daughter, Jeanette Miller, and her husband Glen of OKC, son Clayton Rogers and his wife Mary (who took on the role of caregiver, daughter and the only one who called him “Pop”) of Tuttle, brothers Don Rogers and his wife Joice of Norman and Ron Rogers and his wife Beth of Blanchard. His Sisters-in-Laws, Rosie Rogers of Durant and Janna Howard and her husband Buddy of Gilbert, AZ. Grandsons Taylor Miller and his wife Lisa of Phoenix, AZ and Jordan Miller of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families! He sends you all “Uncle Zim Kisses”!
A visitation for Jimmie will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home At Sunny Lane Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. A funeral service will occur at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Country Estates Baptist Church, 1000 S Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73110. His final resting place will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City.
