With sadness and sorrow, we announce the death of Junior Buster Fox, 96 of Oklahoma City who passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave a written memory on this page. JB was preceded by: his parents Everett Fox and Ethel Fox (Ledbetter), his first two wives Jenny Fox and Billye June Fox (Jones) and his brother Luther Fox. He is survived by: his third wife Sheila Money, three brothers, two sisters, four children Jesse Fox, James Fox, Janet Fox and Josephine Fox all of California, a stepdaughter, Phyllis Thorne, of Maine, a stepson, Richard Thorne of OKC and many grandkids and great grandkids.
He had a full and adventurous life. He served as a WWII veteran and loved his country. He did a stint in the Army and then another stint in the Air Force. He was proud to serve and defend America. After the military, he started a cattle ranch called the “Double J” in California where he married his first wife Jenny. They were together for 25 years and had four children whose names all started with J. When Jenny died of pneumonia, JB sold the ranch for a large sum of money and divided it amongst his four, now grown, children. Then he moved back to his beloved home, Oklahoma.
He made a living driving trucks. He drove every kind of truck in existence and loved naming them all. In his free time, he wrote and sang songs. At one point, he even traveled with Bob Wells and The Texas Playboys. Always with a deep love for God, JB began playing his music and singing in the church. This is where he met his second wife, Billye June, who also sang in the church. The two of them together were quite a team for God. They bought an RV and travelled around the country singing gospel songs and spreading God’s word. After 38 years of marriage, Billye June died of COVID, leaving JB alone. He went to the pastor of his church and asked for prayer. He wanted the lord to give him a third and final wife. His prayers were answered with the love of his life, Sheila. They fell hard and fast. He loved her to the depths of his soul. He could often be heard saying, “She’s the best thing that ever happened to me. She’s more than a wife, she’s an Angel.” She loved him fiercely and all she wanted was to make him happy. She was by his side until he went home to God.
