Karen Lynn Boyd of Ratliff City, Oklahoma, passed away on March 7th, 2024, in Marlow, Oklahoma. Karen was born on November 23rd, 1946, to Florene and Woodrow Gammel. Karen grew up with brothers Woody and Charles in Marlow and graduated from Marlow High School. Karen spent some time in Shawnee, OK where she owned a wedding cake service and also spearheaded the Neighborhood Watch Program keeping her community safe. She enjoyed being involved in church, reading her bible, spending time with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and watching OU football. Spending most of her time in Del City, Oklahoma, Karen retired from Tinker Air Force Base as a Support Equipment Custodian and would later move to Ratliff City.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Florene and Woodrow, and her brother Charles. She is survived by her brother, Woodrow Gammel Jr and his wife Vickie; her eldest son, Scott Taylor, granddaughter, Candice Taylor, her children, Trinity Lynn Freitag and Phoenix James-Taylor Freitag, Grandchildren, Dalynn Taylor, Lauren Taylor, Serenity Taylor. Youngest son, Michael Ramirez and his wife, Kayla, grandson, Timothy Ramirez and his daughter Jensyn Ramirez, grandson, Collin Ramirez and his daughter Piper Ramirez and grandson, James Ramirez: her daughter, Megan Harris and her husband Matt, granddaughters, Kaitlynn Boyd and Maria Harris, and grandson, Ricky Harris, many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
There will be a viewing for Karen from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024, at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, 400 SE 29th St. in Del City, Ok. The Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 21st, 2024, at 2:00pm (also at Sunny Lane Funeral Home). Followed by a short Graveside Service at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 NW Grand Blvd, Oklahoma City OK 73118.
