Kermit Smith stepped into the presence of his Lord on July 3, 2021. He was born May 4, 1931 to Imo and Albert Smith. Kermit married his true love Cora Lou on August 4, 1950 and they were blessed with three children.
Kermit had many hobbies throughout his 90 year life with his favorites being fishing and bowling which he shared with Cora Lou.
Kermit had an amazing work ethic which actually began at the age of 11! He had numerous jobs as a teenager finally culminating with a 30 year career with the Civil Service as a Woods Craftsman at Tinker Air Force Base from December 1955 to May 1986. However, after "retiring" Kermit and Cora Lou worked at the State Fair of Oklahoma in the Hobbies, Arts and Crafts department as the Superintendents of Culinary for over 20 years.
Kermit also valued education highly and demonstrated this by serving on the Crooked Oak High School Board of Education from September 7, 1977 through February 8, 1993.
Kermit was preceded in death by his precious wife and best friend Cora Lou, son Dennis, and his sons-in-law Kenny Young and Charlie Ramirez. He is survived by daughters Debra Young and Dawna Ramirez; grandchildren Angie Whitehead and husband Walter, Kendra Bailes and husband Chris, Kiel Ramirez and wife Brittany, and Trent Ramirez and wife Erin; great grandchildren Ryne and Jacob Whitehead, Lucas Pitt, MaKenzi and Tanner Ramirez, and Bailey, Christian and Willy Brandt.
