Linda always loved life, and boy did she live it! Back in her “Hippie Days” as she called it, she had many adventures. She would often times hop on a plane or jump in the car with friends and follow the rock band The Raiders around the United States when they were on tour. Between The Raiders and The Beatles, she had the time of her life in her 20’s. Although she enjoyed such adventures, she finally met her future husband, Larry William Rawlins and together they got married, settled down, and started a family.
Linda worked for many years at a pharmacy company called Fox but became a stay at home Mom shortly after her daughter Miranda was born. Being a stay at home Mom was one of the greatest jobs of her life but after Linda and her husband Larry of ten years divorced, she went to work over nights at Wal-Mart and was employed there for 14 years before numerous health problems forced her into early retirement.
Linda was always a Christian but it wasn’t until she accepted the Lord as her savior in the summer of 2016 that she really grew spiritually. She developed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and everyone around her could see a wonderful change in her heart.
Linda was a member of the Choctaw Tribe and she was very proud of her heritage. She was also an advocate for lost, hurt, or abused animals and would have adopted each and every one of them if she could have.
Linda was a fighter until the very end. She overcame many broken bones due to severe osteoporosis, she beat septic shock 6 times, she endured multiple surgeries, two amputations, and more pain than any one person should ever have to suffer with. She constantly defied the odds and had doctors calling her, “Simply a Miracle.”
After Linda won this last battle, she entered into Heaven and was greeted at the pearly gates by her Mother, Mary Sue Puckett, her Father, Robert David Puckett, her Granny, Lou LeFlore Maddux, her three furbabies, Love-a-lot, Mollie, and Red, as well as many other family, friends, and furbabies that eagerly awaited her arrival.
Linda is survived by her children that meant more to her than life itself; her daughter Miranda Kaylin Rawlins and son-in-law David, and her son Mark William Rawlins and daughter-in-law Melissa. She is survived by five grandsons; Dakota, Timothy, Justin, Nathan, and Elijah and she is survived by two granddaughters; Savannah and Haley. Linda is also survived by one sister, Kathryn Susan Henderson and husband Rick, and one nephew, Jonathan James Henderson, As well as many more family members and friends that will miss her so very much.
A special note from the family: My Mom was more than a fighter, she was a beautiful testament to the miracles that God can do and the blessings he places in people’s lives. I want to thank the team from Loving Care Home Health out of Yukon, especially Mom’s nurse Mark, and the staff at Integris Southwest Medical Center that worked endlessly and tirelessly for so long, doing everything possible to help Mom. I am eternally grateful that you all gave her four more years with us. To Dr. Ryan T. Morgan, my cup runeth over; you went above and beyond for her every single step of the way. She loved you so much. You will always have a special place in our hearts and in our family. I am forever grateful to you and for God placing you into our lives. Dr. Olulade, you have been amazing throughout these years. Mom loved you as well and we are forever thankful that you never gave up on her. Until the very last beat of her heart, you tried, and we were all blessed to have you in our lives. To one specific nurse on the 10th floor, Kristi… you gave me 23 more days with my Mom. You were literally the beat of her heart for a moment in time. I thank God for you. I thank God for each of you; each nurse, tech, therapist, specialist, surgeon, cleaning crew, dietician, and anyone else that played any part in her life. We love you all.-Miranda
