Loren Douglas Gallaway “Doug”, 83, passed away in Oklahoma City, OK on November 3, 2018. Doug was a proud sailor and veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, but was called home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Lou (Vasques), daughters, Lorena King, Angela Maybrier, son, Kevin Gallaway, and grandchildren Douglas, Jennifer, Loren, Austin, Tyler, Brendan, Wesley, and great grandchildren Alex and Salena. He is now at home with his loving parents, siblings and grandson Bradley.
Doug was born on July 3, 1935 in Dwight Kansas, he was the youngest of seven children and an extremely patient and loving husband. He married Mary Lou Vasques in White City Kansas, on June 9th, 1956. Doug was a C130 Hercules load master in the United States Navy and was a true patriot. He had a passion and dedication to country music and utilized that talent as a square dance caller. Everyone that knew him was blessed by his comedic stories and mannerisms.
A viewing will take place at Bill Eisenhower Funeral Home, 5005 South East 29th Street, Del City Oklahoma, 73115 on November 4, 2018, with a Celebration of Life to be announced the first week of July, 2019 details will be distributed to family and friends later.
