Mary Carmen (Barrientos) Jennings

Mary Carmen (Barrientos) Jennings, 94, entered the gates of Heaven on April 12, 2017 while surrounded by her family. She was born on June 3, 1922 in Pittsburg, OK to John and Frances (Olmos) Barrientos.

Mary was a faithful and devoted Christian and was a charter member of the Maranatha Assembly of God church. Loving the Lord, church and family was her greatest passion. She enjoyed cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for her family and loved to spoil her grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Chester Jennings Sr.; infant son, John Ernest Jennings; siblings, Beatrice Weeks, Sadie Hughes, Isabel Puett, Ernest, Joe, Pete and Willie Mae Barrientos. Survivors include her children, Chester Jennings Jr. (Jan), David Jennings, Sr., Charles Jennings (Denise), Sheila Parra (Victor); grandchildren, Chester “CJ” Jennings (Neenah), William Jennings (Jill), David Jennings, Jr. (Ritchie), Aisha Donaldson, Chelsea Smith (Curtis), Camber Evans (Jayson), Tomara Largent (Larry), Julie Bortka (Jerry), Delilah Palmer (Dallas); and many great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
