

Monroe was a proud 1970 graduate from the OU School of Business, and was a devoted Sooners fan. He owned and operated Davis Insurance Agency in Midwest City for 15 years. After retirement, he volunteered at a local nursing home and the Tinker AFB Pharmacy. Monroe took great pride in organizing family reunions and looked forward to spending time with his family. Fishing, creative writing, poems, stories and computers, were some of his favorite hobbies. While serving in the U.S. Air Force, he met the love of his life, and would later retire after 20 years of faithful service. He spent many years working on his family tree and researching genealogy. Monroe was a Democrat and he could talk politics with any one that would listen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 61 years, Marie Viola (Delisle) Davis; two brothers, Maxie D. Davis and Mickey D. Davis; infant sister, Mattie L. Davis; infant brother, Calvin W. Davis. Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Bartling and husband, Milton and one grandson, Justin Paul Bartling; sister, Mary G. Vernor and husband, James; brothers, Marlin F. Davis and wife, Carolyn, M. Prentice Davis and wife, Due and Mark A. Davis and wife, Brandi. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 2, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Midwest City, Interment will follow in Sunny Lane Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.eisenhourfuneral.com.
