

Nona Mae (Muldowney) Cripps, 91, passed from this life to her heavenly home on Saturday, October 27, 2012. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend. Born on May 27, 1921, Nona Mae was the daughter of John Elmer and Etta Mae (Coulter) Muldowney of Roosevelt, OK.
Shortly after, the family moved to Guthrie, OK where Nona attended elementary school before moving back to the family farm in Roosevelt where she graduated from Roosevelt High School with honors as the valedictorian. Nona attended Kiowa County Jr. College where she graduated before meeting the love of her life, Robert L. Cripps of Hobart, OK. The two married in August of 1940, and enjoyed 69 loving and joyous years together before his passing in March of 2010. Robert and Nona lived in Oklahoma City and Ponca City before settling in Midwest City, OK where they lived for 50 years. Nona worked as a civil service employee at Tinker Air Force Base for 20 years as a secretary in the Engineering Division and the D/MM office where she received numerous awards for her performance before retiring in 1976. Nona was a charter member of the First Presbyterian Church in Midwest City, OK with over 60 years of faithful service. She was a longtime member of the Porcelain Artist of Oklahoma Club, and a member of the Ebenezar Fletcher Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a 50 year member of the Midwest City Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Nona was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Cripps; and brother, Charles Muldowney. She is survived by her only daughter Eloise Gay Shehorne (Bill), grandchildren, Sherri Duncan (Barry), Michael Shehorne (Julia); and three great grandchildren, Dusty Duncan, Cody Giles and Nicole Caitlin Shehorne. The Lord blessed the world when he gave us Nona. She lived each day in the service of the Lord and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church of Midwest City with burial at 2:30 PM in the Roosevelt Cemetery in Roosevelt, OK. Condolences may be offered at www.eisenhourfuneral.com
