Norman Ray “Bucky” Oliver of Del City, OK, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on April 20, 2021. Bucky was born on Dec. 31, 1936 in Cogar, OK, to Frank and Stella Oliver. Survived by wife Frances Keen Oliver, and children; Mark Oliver (Sarah) of Moore, Donna Harper of Moore, Lisa Oliver of Del City, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren with one on the way, twin sister Norma Clifton (Don) of Norfolk, VA, multiple nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. Loving son Michael Ray Oliver preceded in death May 13, 2017.
Bucky and Frances established their home in Del City in 1957 and have lived here for 64 years and are members of Sunnylane United Methodist Church. He became a Del City firefighter in 1956 and retired as assistant fire chief in 1972. He drove the activity bus for several years at Rose State College and was sergeant of arms at the state capitol for seven years. He enjoyed coaching baseball, taking the teams on camping trips, and watching all sports. He was also a die hard OU fan and loved history.
