

Otis Clark was born in Coyle, Oklahoma on the family farm on February 9, 1934 to Theodore Clark, Sr. and Annie Mae Swain-Clark. He attended Excelsior Grade School, which was a one room school. He was taught by two of his aunts, Hattie Brown and Mary Clark. He had a horse, named Ribbon, which he loved to ride every day. He also loved hunting rabbits, squirrels, opossum and quail. Otis was holy united to Velma Tubbs and from this union came four children. Throughout Otis’s life he worked at several places starting at the family farm then at the Oklahoma Manufacturing Company in Guthrie, Oklahoma until the plant closed. He was then employed by Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma. Otis is preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings and wife, Velma Tubbs Clark. He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters; Earnestine and Tony Carter of Bethany, Oklahoma, Margret Clark and Gloria Clark, one son; Otis Clark, Jr. all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, four sisters; Kathryn Penn, Lena and Charles White of Langston, Oklahoma, Rosetta and Willie B. Woodberry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Syretha Bragg of Edmond, Oklahoma and one brother, Stacy Clark of Langston, Oklahoma. Otis is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
