Robert Gene Bottoms

Robert Gene Bottoms passed away Monday, December 23, 2013 in Midwest City, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years old. He was born June 13, 1931 in New Paris, Ohio to Hubert “Herb” and Gladys (Arthur) Bottoms. Robert attended and graduated from Jefferson High School in New Paris, Ohio before he joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country during the Korean War. He had many passions in life to include visiting the local casinos and watching football, but none greater than the love and compassion he had for his wife Jean of fifty years and the times spent involved in family activities. He was a longtime member of his local VFW and he attended the Midway Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Bottoms; Parents, Herb and Gladys Bottoms; son, Franklin John Murray and wife Carol; brother, Kenneth “Junior” Bottoms; sister, Theda Irene Miller-Jorgenson. Those left to carry on his legacy include son, John Arthur Murray and wife Judy; daughters, Sherry Lynn Trammell and husband Steve, Belinda Jean Josey and husband Jimmy, Mary Elizabeth Johnson and husband Donnie; brothers, Jim Bottoms, Billy Joe Bottoms and Harry “Jerry” Bottoms; Best Friend and Companion, Donna Johnson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013 at Sunny Lane Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
