Roy T. Myers went to his eternal rest Saturday, February 26, 2011 in Oklahoma City. He was born December 17, 1931 in Elm Springs, Arkansas, to Eddie Frank and Rosie Adeline (Francis) Myers. Roy was a lifelong member of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. This is where he met the love of his life, Bonnie Williams. At the age of 17, they married and were blessed to spend 61 years together. They both loved the dear friends that they grew up with in the church. Roy was in the US Air Force for 20 years and was able to travel the world and see many beautiful places. He loved telling stories from his military days to his kids and grandkids. Many of Roy and his family's fondest memories are from the time he was stationed in Sacramento, California. Roy and Bonnie made many lifelong connections with the brethren at the church there. He ended his air force career as a boom operator in 1971 with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Roy went on to attend Oscar Rose Junior College on the GI Bill. He and Bonnie started and built a business together in Oklahoma City called Los Tacos. Many people to this day have fond memories of growing up eating there. After his kids were older, he turned the business over to them and continued to chase his dreams of success. Roy loved network marketing and after joining many different companies found his niche with AMS, where he achieved the highest held money making position of Platinum Director. Despite all the success he was able to achieve, the greatest joy and accomplishment of his life was his four children, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Roy took so much pride in his children but especially enjoyed doing all the "dad" things with his son. He helped coach Rayme's little league teams and to this day the men he coached as boys still talk about the positive impact he had on their lives. He never slowed down, being just as involved with his grandkids and great grandkids. All of their friends loved him, too, and everyone called him Dad. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Myers; 4 children: Jerri Brooks; Karen Whittington and husband, David; Joanna Lindahl Myers; and son, Rayme Myers; sister, Dorothy Shelton; 7 grandchildren: Ryan Myers and wife, Jennifer; Kryston Sloan and husband,Willie; Zakari Lindahl; River Myers; Kyra Whittington; Rainey Myers; Danay Brooks; and 5 great grandchildren: Jakob, Raven, and Tristan Sloan and Lyric and Harmony Myers; brother-in-law, Eldon Williams; sisters-in-law, Blenn Spearman and Judy Hughes; Andrea Ficek, Jessica New and Michelle Valdez and many nieces, nephews and dear friends, especially all his buddies at Sam's Club.
