Charley, as she was so lovingly called by her friends and family, was born August 15, 1942 to Charles B. Steele and Ruth Corine Dejarnette Steele in Phoenix, Arizona. She was the beloved wife of the late Larry Sherwood, loving mother of Julie Weinmann and Ondra Walls, caring sister of Charles Steele, Frances Kathaleen Hummel, and Philip Steele, and doating grandmother to seven grand kids and ten great grand kids.
Charley was world-renowned for not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. She always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear.
She loved knitting and crocheting, family BBQs, and the occasional Girl's Night Out.
Most of all she loved her family and instilled in them her strong values that have served them well.
Charley passed away February 25 in Houston Texas surrounded by love ones after her struggle with cancer.
She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
