Toby Paul McPherson

Toby Paul McPherson (age 48) passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 after a six-month battle with stomach cancer. Toby is preceded in death by his grandfather, Steven Grubb, his grandmother, Vivian Grubb, both of whom helped raise Toby to be a caring, loving son and father. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Jason McPherson.

Toby graduated from Del City High School and became a Postal Carrier for Midwest City where he serviced customers on his carrier routes for 15 years. During his leave from the Post Office, postal patrons sought out and found Toby’s home to deliver messages describing how they missed his caring way of delivering mail. Toby’s love of baseball, and in particular, the Atlanta Braves, contributed in naming two of his three children honoring Turner Field and Dale Murphy (Turner Dale McPherson) and Greg Maddux and Reed Johnson (Maddux Reed McPherson.) Toby loved the fact that the family was able to visit the Braves stadium on several occasions.

Toby is survived by his best friend and wife, Heather Ann Rupp, his 3 children, Canna Rupp, Turner McPherson and Maddux McPherson. He is also survived by his mother, Darlene Atkins, and a host of friends and extended family.

A private service will be held to honor Toby’s memory and celebrate his life.
