Vernon Robert Taylor born Dec. 4, 1925 to Robert and Lofa Taylor. He departed this life on March 29, 2018 at the age of 92 years. He grew up in the areas of Okemah and Bearden where he graduated High School. Following graduation he served in the USAF for 3 years as a Gunnery Instructor. He was discharged in 1946 and began working for Unit Rig in Tulsa, OK. In 1951 he married Margie Anderson Campbell. After a few years, he left Unit Rig when he began working independently and over a few years time their efforts as owners of Taylor Rig Service continued for over 35 years. Vernon enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising horses on a large ranch used for racing, cutting and show. He was a very hard worker always looking for ways to make jobs easier and more efficient. He was a man that was known to help when someone was in need and was most definitely very generous in giving, as experienced firsthand by a very large number of people over the course of his life.
