Virgie C Henderson

Virgie C Henderson, 81 of OKC passed away on April 13, 2026 at the Integris Hospice House in OKC after receiving comfort care for almost 4 days after complications from a fall, that also included many years of previous illnesses.

Virgie was born on October 23, 1944 to Floyd & Jewel Covington of Hugo OK & was 1 of 10 siblings in the home.

She attended Grant OK School and at the age of 15 married Jack Testerman, the father of her first 2 daughters, Norma Jean & Diana Lynn.

She was later married to Robert L Henderson, who was the father of her 3rd daughter, Sheri Dawn.

Virgie worked at the Biltmore Hotel in OKC at I-40 & Meridian for almost 35 years as a server in the restaurant & at many large conferences.

She loved her job and had a great work ethic. She had many regular customers who always asked for her by name, and had a huge following of customers every Sunday & major holidays.

Virgie was preceded in death by her husband Glen West, 3 brothers, Barney, Elvin and Leo Covington and 1 sister, Juanita Ables, and her son-in-law John Zea.

Grandchildren , JoKyle Varner (Hannah) of Honey Grove TX, Samantha Varner of Denton TX & Dustin Testerman (Ashley) of Noble OK

Great Grandchildren: Tyson Keen, Jax & Witten Varner of Honey Grove TX, & Waylon of Noble OK

Virgie is survived by 3 sisters, Lucille Ables (Ernest) of Talimena OK, Mary Eskridge (Jerry) of Edmond OK, & Ruth Jones of Hugo OK, 2 brothers, Charles (Mary), of Hugo OK & Jerry Covington of Boswell OK.

Virgie is also survived by her next door neighbor & best friend of 50 years Mary Story. They talked on the phone almost daily especially after Virgie retired in 2010. They loved talking & texting during Dallas Cowboy games, OKC Thunder games, & especially OU Sooner football & softball games.
