

DELCAMBRE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Anthony “Tony” Breaux, age 88, at 11:00 am Monday, February 16, 2015 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Nathan Comeaux will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum with Military Honors rendered by the United States Navy.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre on Sunday from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Rosary at 6:30 pm. Visiting hours will resume on Monday from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.
Anthony was born January 1, 1927 in Vermilion Parish to the late Fergust and Francis Campisi Breaux and passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 at Jennings American Legion Hospital, with his family at his side.
“Tony” as he was known by family and friends, was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served his country during World War II. He retired from Jefferson Island Salt Mine. Tony loved tending to his cattle, and the many other animals he raised on his property. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly.
Survivors include his son, Michael A. Breaux and wife Lizette of Delcambre; his daughters, Marilyn Breaux Boudreaux and husband H.J. “Dago” Boudreaux of Nunez and Brenda Breaux Delcambre and husband Dale of Kaplan; 9 grandchildren, Kade Michael Breaux, Kody James Breaux, Karson Jude Breaux, Amy B. Scelfo (Kenny), Rachel Boudreaux, Joshua Boudreaux, Bryan Delcambre (Doriska), Jacob Delcambre (Christy), Jessica Walls (Michael); and 9 great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josie Moody Breaux; and his brothers, Samuel Breaux and Joseph Breaux.
Pallbearers will be Mike, Kade, Kody, and Karson Breaux, Jacob Delcambre and Gene Prince.
