Carolyn was born January 9, 1943 in Vermilion Parish to the late Fernest Dubois and Verna Delcambre Dubois. On Thursday, May 16, 2019, Carolyn passed away at residence at the beautiful age of 76, surrounded by her loving family

Everyone that knew Carolyn, knew of her love for family. She was the epitome of the word Mother and lived her life for them. In every minute of her life she was perfectly content having them near her. In her children and grandchildren’s eyes, she was the best cook ever and Carolyn was always happy to prepare a meal for them. As for the ladies in her life, they were blessed to share time with her on the many shopping trips they took. The memories and legacy of love between them will forever be kept close in our hearts and in our thoughts. Rest well. Until we meet again.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Lea Broussard and husband Gil, Robert Esponge, Jr. and wife Tina, Brett Esponge and wife Monica and Andre’ Clemons and wife Dawn; her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she absolutely adored, Kallie Moneaux, Robert Esponge, III (Katelyn), Seth Esponge, Cameron Esponge, Tyler Clemons (Tori), Lanie Boyle (Patrick), Lauren Clemons; Kalob, Kahlin and Isaac Moneaux, Kinlee, Clara, Caraline Esponge and Adley and Beckett Boyle. She is also survived by her sisters and brother, Norma Mayard (Donald), Trois Dubois (Janet), Linda Jabbia (Peter); and her brother-in-law, Roland Esponge (Barbara).

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Esponge, Sr.; two grandsons whom she missed dearly, Joshua Esponge and Jon Cade Clemons; and her in-laws, Olive and Lorris Esponge.

Serving as pallbearers are Robert, Seth and Cameron Esponge, Kalob and Kahlin Moneaux and Peter Jabbia. Honorary pallbearers are Andre Clemons, Gil Broussard, Roland Esponge, Tyler Clemons and Isaac Moneaux.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to Mrs. Clemon’s care givers Merna Dooley, Catherine Strother, Christine Broussard and Tricia Landry; and to the Staff of Grace Hospice, especially Alexis Romero and David Doumit for the care and compassion shown.

You will live in my heart forever. It was such a blessing to comfort you all the nights you came get me those words I'll never forget. YOU COMING!!! Carolyn

I've been thinking about our fun nights spent together. Your kids mention for me to write our memories. Well some I'll tell them but a few is between you and I. Every night Brett knows I was running in the back door late. I could still see him sitting on the sofa. I'm thinking Carolyn loved me as me so I'll be late again one last time. Tonight I will finish my message cause I can't be on time heading out to my class at church. I'll be back soon love you all. Miss y'all!!! Jus letting y'all know I didn't forget!!!

My Dearest Mother ,
I will forever love & miss you. I am honored & blessed you are my mom & we had many wonderful memories we shared.;It was not without struggles though. I am so happy that I quit working for that 1 1/2 so that we can go on some vacations, shopping, & just make all those memories. I will treasure those memories forever. I just don't know what I will do without you. I will miss you like crazy. Just to talk to you on the phone, eating out, do some shopping , watch tv , or just simply talking. Love you always & forever. It's not good bye; it's until we meet again.

You will be missed Granny, dearly. You were an awesome woman and were loved by many. I would love to just talk to you one more time or just hear your voice. We shared many memories together. I loved when you cooked or even just brought us to school in the morning. See you another day. Love you so much.

Granny I will miss you so much. Shine down on us in heaven. I used to love coming in the morning to school when it was your turn to bring me and you would have my pancakes waiting. The best nights were when we would go eat out at one of your favorite restaurants. I can’t wait to see your smile and hear your laugh again one day. I will always cherish the memories we made together. I love you so much Granny.

So sorry for your families’ loss. I never saw Carolyn without a smile on her face and I’m sure that is how she greeted the Lord. May the family have comfort in knowing how much she was loved by all.

Granny,
Thank you so much for all the guidance and help you have always given me and my boys. I always dreamed of being even half the woman you were. We always wanted to come to Granny’s for those delicious meals and endless laughs. I loved bringing you do your hair, our lunch outings, and shopping days. O my, how I wish I can get these back. Love you so much and know you were everything to us we could of ever dreamed of and more. To me, you were so much more then a Granny💗Love Kallie
