Chester, fondly known as daddy, Pop and Poppy, was born to Irene and Edwin Moneaux, on September 15, 1947. He was a talented carpenter who loved building things for his family. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, he served in the Navy on the USS Frank E. Evans. Daddy fought his battle against heart disease for years. Despite spending much of that time in and out of the hospital, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his entire journey, he cracked jokes with his grown children, made silly faces with his grandchildren, and even pulled some light-hearted pranks on the nurses. He had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed.
Chester is survived by his kids Brady Moneaux (Lori) and Tana Phillips (John), sister Anelia Mire, brothers Jerry Moneaux (Carrie), Jess Moneaux (E.J.), grandkids Leah LaGrange (Hunter), Mattie Phillips, Paul Moneaux (Sarah), Jenny Landry (Ross), Taylor Moneaux (Maddie) and Zack Moneaux. Along with numerous great grandkids, nieces and nephews.
He was met at heavens gates by his wife, Jeanette, who he loved dearly, his mother and father Irene and Edwin Moneaux and numerous other family members.
We would like to thank Carmen Romero and Trisha Bourque from The Vermilion at Eastridge where he spent his last year and a half. When he moved into his apartment there was a spark in eye. You all brought the life back into him. He enjoyed every minute there.
