Mrs. Hazel Hebert LeBlanc, a resident and well known prayer warrior of Delcambre, passed away at 6:50 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was 93 when she departed this earth and entered her heavenly home.
Mrs. Hazel was born September 14, 1926 in rural Vermilion Parish to the late Gerard Hebert and the late Ada Bares Hebert. She was a 1944 graduate of Erath High School and she was skilled in many areas, but she dedicated the majority of her life to her family and her faith. Although her passion in life was being a wife, mother and grandmother, some her hobbies included cooking, baking, sewing and liturgical song. Some of the memories the family will cherish was her delicious shrimp stew, and the birthday cake of their choice she baked them each year.
Hazel had a deep faith and believed in the power of prayer. It is no surprise that she shares the same death anniversary as Mother Teresa, St. Teresa of Calcutta. She devoted herself to the Blessed Mother by praying her rosary multiple times daily. Mrs. LeBlanc was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Church, a member of Come Lord Jesus and St. Anne’s Alter Society.
She leaves a legacy of faith, love and kindness that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Arceneaux LeBlanc; her grandchildren, Andrew LeBlanc, Courtney LeBlanc and Parker LeBlanc; her brothers, U L Hebert and Dale Hebert (Vickie); and her God children, Catherine Strother and Brenda Grant.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “LJ” LeBlanc; her son, Gregory Jude LeBlanc; a sister, Dorothy Begnaud; sister-in-law, JoAnne Hebert; and brother-in-law, Oscar Begnaud.
Serving as pallbearers are Andrew LeBlanc, Parker LeBlanc, Gary Hebert, Danny Hebert and Will Gary.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Bridgeway Hospice and Mrs. Heather Mayard, RN, and to her caregivers, Theresa, Marilyn, Tashia, Becky, Bonnie, Babs, Myrna and Berna. Your loving care and compassion is greatly appreciated.
