DELCAMBRE - Jean B. “J.C.” Suire, 95, passed away on February 1, 2026, at Maison du Monde in Abbeville, Louisiana. He was born on March 5, 1930, in Erath, Louisiana, and was a longtime resident of Delcambre.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre, with Father Buddy Breaux officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of services, with a recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 a.m.
J.C. was employed for many years as a boat skipper, transporting Texaco employees to inspect their wells in West Cote Blanche Bay. He had a deep love for gardening and was well known for sharing his plentiful crops with neighbors, family, and friends. He also enjoyed visiting with friends under his carport at home. J.C. was a kind and gentle soul who always brought joy to those around him. He will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his siblings, Pierre “Jimmy” Suire, Sr. (Lois), Lovelyn S. Prejean, Belzire “Belle” S. Landry, and Boniface “Boni” Suire, Jr. (Faye), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Isabell Menard Suire; his parents, Boniface Suire, Sr. and Belzire Landry Suire; his siblings, Elta S. Cormier, Loway J. Suire (Maudry), Adam “P.D.” Suire (Ida), and Celia S. Bouillion (David); and his brothers-in-law, Raymond Prejean and Clay Landry.
Serving as pallbearers will be members of his family.
