Kevin James Smith

DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Kevin James Smitty” Smith at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Gary Schexnayder will officiate at the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm on Wednesday until service on Thursday. The funeral home will remain open all night. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.

A native of Erath and resident of Delcambre, Kevin passed away at 1:10 pm on Monday, May 23, 2011.

Kevin was a 1994 graduate of Delcambre High School and was employed at Dynamic Tower Services, Inc. of Carencro. Kevin was known for being the life of the party, and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a true friend and would give to anyone in need.

Kevin lived life for his family and loved his children, and cherished every moment spent with them.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Brandy Touchard of Delcambre; his children, Drey Touchard, Makayla Alario, Devin Touchard and Dasin Smith all of Delcambre; his mother, Kaye Gary Smith of Delcambre and his siblings, Gary J. “T-Boy” Smith, Jr. and wife Carol of Coteau, Augustine “Tina” Hebert and husband Nick of Erath and Ashley Gary of Abbeville. He is also survived by his brother in law, Justin R. Touchard of Delcambre; Father in law, Michael Delcambre of Delcambre; God father, Michael Gary of Abbeville and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary J. Smith, Sr.; God mother, Lucy Nell Dore; In laws, Sara V. Delcambre and Philip Touchard; brother in law, Shawn P. Touchard and his aunt, Jackie G. Robicheaux.

Pallbearers will be Gary “T-Boy” Smith, Jr.; Justin Touchard, Glenn Gary, Eric Romero, Jr., Ernest Gary, Gordon Gary, Jr., Nick Hebert and Kelly Duplantis, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Drey Touchard, Devin Touchard, Dasin Touchard and Makayla Alario.
