DELCAMBRE –Ronald "Papa Duck" Joseph Boudoin, age 82, of Erath passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Louisiana to Enes Delahoussaye Boudoin and Lovelace Boudoin.
Ronald, known affectionately as "Papa Duck," lived a life rich in simple joys and cherished moments. He was a man who found happiness in the company of friends, often frequenting bars and enjoying card games like Bouree and Low Ball. Raised around horses in his younger days, he maintained a lifelong love for the thrill of horse racing.
A passionate reader, Ronald delved into the works of authors like John Grisham and Tom Clancy, finding solace and enjoyment in the pages of their novels. His green thumb extended to gardening, where he nurtured and cultivated vegetables with care.
Sundays were dedicated to family, a time when Ronald reveled in the warmth of togetherness. He particularly enjoyed bonding over the excitement of The Saints and Notre Dame football games with his loved ones.
Ronald is survived by his loving children: Penny B. Clay (Patrick), Donna B. Hebert (Chad), David "Spike" Boudoin (Pamela), Derck Boudoin (Linda), Daniel “Dino” Boudoin (Maggie), and Danny Boudoin (Tammy). He leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren - Brody Boudoin (Katie), Brylee Verret (Shane) Cheyanne Camille, Amber Boudoin, Karey Robin (Zach), Hollie Boudoin, Joshua Boudoin (Samantha), Shawn Boudoin (Emily), Kimberly Boudoin, Cole Clay, Catherine Clay, Shelby Hebert, and Sydni Hebert.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Bourque Boudoin, his father Lovelace Boudoin, his mother Enes Delahoussaye Boudoin, his brother Curtis "Joe" Boudoin, and sister-in-law Patsy Boudoin.
Mr. Boudoin also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way and a loving god child, Brenda LeBlanc.
Visitation for Ronald will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre. A rosary will be recited on the same evening at 6:00 PM. Additional visitation will take place on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the service time. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 3:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Buddy Breaux officiating.
Ronald will find his final resting place in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.
Honoring Ronald as pallbearers are David "Spike" Boudoin, Derck Boudoin, Daniel "Dino" Boudoin, Danny Boudoin, Brody Boudoin, Cole Clay.
Honorary pallbearers will be Durke “Pee Wee” Romero, Joey “Joe Black” Delahoussaye, and Robert "RS" Stanbulie.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Jean Bourque and Joey “Joe Black” Delahoussaye for their kindness and dedication in ensuring Ronald always had a comforting meal.
