Sylvia was born September 26, 1932 in rural Vermilion Parish, one of two daughters to the late Eddie Gerard and the late Oline LeBlanc Gerard. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class at her alma mater, Delcambre High School.
She retired from the State of Louisiana, Iberia Parish Health Unit with over 25 years of faithful and dedicated service and was able to enjoy her retirement to its fullest. She and her husband Carroll Lee, often took trips to their two favorite destinations, Galveston and Biloxi, for a bit of shopping and dining. They both enjoyed dining out with some of their favorites being Duffy’s and Seafood Connection, and Gaido’s on the seawall in Galveston. Above all, she loved being with her children and their families. We will miss her dearly, but know that we will one day be reunited with her. Rest in peace. We love you.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jerome Vincent (Patti), Kent Vincent (Denise) and Gerard Vincent (Rhonda); her five grandchildren, Kristin Vincent, Ashlee Broussard (Brandon), Damon Vincent (Alyssa), Kramer Vincent (Lauren) and Shanna Vincent Walet (Ross); four great grandchildren, Wyatt Vincent, Libby Vincent, Graham Walet and Knox Vincent; and her only sister, Gloria Gerard Estis.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Lee Vincent.
