 I wrote the Chief a year ago after reading his book, would you know, 5 days later I received a reply. 
The Chief's portrait proudly hangs in the Arson & Explosion Squad (which he created). Thank you for the inspiration.

It was an honor for me and my friend Ron Reynolds { both former NYPD police officers } to attend Albert Seedman's Memorial Service in Delray Beach, Florida, and also pay our respect to his wife, Henny, and  their granddaughter, Alison Stiegler, and the rest of the family. I have his book "Chief" at home, which he signed for me when my wife and I, along with my granddaughter went to visit him and Henny a few years back. I kept in touch with him via telephone. He was a good soldier, a good cop, and a legend in the NYPD. God bless his soul. -Joe Sanchez

"Hail to the Chief" was best meant to describe Chief Al Seedman. He was my mentor and friend when on the job, from the day of his retirment o one could ever fill his shoes!.  My he rest in peace and never be forgotten.

The the Family of Chief Albert A. Seedman: I had the great honor and pleasure to meet Chief Al Seedman in person when visiting attending a meeting in April 2013 at the NYPD Broward County, FL 10-13 Club. The conversation we had was both very Interesting and Exciting as we shared stories and compared 'The Job' as to Past & Present. Chief Albert Seedman is a true Detective Investigator and Gentleman. 
I would like to share our Heartfelt sympathy & condolences from all Members of the NYPD and NYPD Detective Bureau.

To the family my condolences. I was a great admirer of Chief Seedman as I am a retired police officer from central Virginia. Chief Seedman was a true police hero. I regret I never had the opportunity to meet him.
