I will always remember the warmth and sense of adventure of this truly wonderful woman. Thank you for all the fun you shred and thank you also for all loving moments that you shared with Murray Klein.

For my Grandma:

I am loved.

From the film canister of quarters I got every time I flew down as a child to the no doubt hours she spent watching my half-prepared puppet shows and to the golf cart I'm sure she kept just for me, regardless of how often she used it to win numerous golf trophies.  It's the little acts she did for me that tell me that I am loved.


She gave me everything she could, even her endless suggestions on how I SHOULD be doing things and her not so subtle attempt to lady me up with a gift of a table manners book.  But she wouldn't have tried, and god bless her heart did she try, but she wouldn't have done so if she didn't care.  So with that, she showed me that I am loved.


One time we were on the phone while I was home alone around middle school and we talked on the phone for two hours while she somehow convinced me to take on the task of cleaning out the fridge and freezer.  She said it would help my mom, she knew that although it was her idea I would get credit for it.  For that, I know I am loved.
She yet again provided help for my mom when she herself couldn't.  With that, my mom is loved.


Another time Marc, my mother, and I got a flat tire on heror shall we say MY golf cart on the way to the pool.  We left the golf cart on the side of the road in her neighborhood and went swimming.  She found the cart, became upset, hit her then partner's car, found us, and confronted us on our utter lack of awareness.  Although we upset her, consequently caused a car accident, and potentially embarrassed her in front of anyone who may have driven past our abandoned and broken cart, she let us eat all her cookies and made us root beer floats.  Despite any disappointment, she showed us yet again that we are loved.


No matter what happened, no matter the countless arguments we had, no matter how many times I ignored her suggestions for my life, I know that she loved me.  She never left it open for debate, she told me many times.  It was even one of the last things she told me that day.


I know, especially at the end, that she, too, knew that SHE is loved.

I say is, and not was, because while life can be short, the love of family is forever.  I have, do, and always will love her and I'm sure she is looking down on us pouring her endless love onto us all.


My grandma and I had many different views.  She never missed a beat telling me how I could fix my flaws: I never wore my hair right, I didn't wear dresses, my graphic t-shirts were not proper enough, I always tried to avoid using a placemat, I ate my chips right out of the bag, my elbows were always on the table, I plucked my grapes right off the vines.I could go on all day  and believe me she could too and she has.  But despite all this, in this moment, I know that she would want me to know that I am loved.  And she would want you all to know that YOU are loved.


So to the independent lady, who was strong in both body and mind, I say this: I love you.  We love you.  Always and forever.  Safe journeys.

No matter what's next, know this, you are loved.

Marc, We were so sorry to here of the death of your Mother, Gloria.  We know she was very dear to you and that she will be sorely missed by all your family.  Hopefully all your wonderful memories will help to sustain you during these difficult times. With all our love, Nancy and Elmer

So sorry to learn of our much loved Aunt Gloria's passing.  I am thankful for
the many times we were able to talk and laugh together over the phone these past
few years. She will always be in our hearts and minds.  Please extend our
deepest sympathy and love to Ilene and the rest of the family.  We will not be
attending the services in New York.
