Dear Goldberg Family,

I am a good friend of Steven's, and though I never met Mr. (Herbert) Goldberg, I feel as though I know much about him from Steven.  He seemed to care very deeply about all of his family, and about society in general.  These things, as well as some endearing anecdotes Steven told me, made me love and respect him too.

My deepest condolences for your loss, and my appreciation for all of you who had the privilege of being close to him, and my gratitude to Steven for allowing me to know a great deal about him.

The passing of my cousin, Herb, jogged my memories of the Goldberg family.
I am the oldest of the second cousins of the Goldbergs, being the son of Kate Goldberg Wolfe and Sol Wolfe. I had always looked up to my older first cousins, including Herb, Harvey Gilden , Paul Gilden and Jerry Goldberg. 
I fondly recall the photo of Herb in is WW2 uniform and boots. I always had a copy of that photo in my desk, as a kid.
Your Grandfather, my Uncle Lou (Labe) , worked in the painting business with my Dad and my Grandfather, Morris Goldberg. 
There are many memories which are, today, flowing through my heart and
brain.
I hope that Herb rests in peace and that you maintain his memory,

There were times I stayed over my Aunt Shirley’s house while my parents went somewhere.
Herbie always tried to scare me with stories about ghosts chasing me, but Helen always me laugh about those silly stories.
Loved spending time with them.
Over the years lost contact and found Herb on Facebook and what a lovely surprise, but today I was surprised to learn of his death
Sweet dreams Herbie wherever u r and I will never forget these childhood memories .
