She passed away peacefully on October 5th after the effects of dementia. Sadly it stole her mind and ravaged her body. Lorraine was born in the Bronx, N.Y. to Max and Frieda Minkoff on Feb 28, 1931. She is predeceased by her first love, Jerry Spring who left her way too soon. Then she was lucky enough to find and marry Vic Edwards who also predeceased her.
Lorraine was fortunate enough to travel the far reaches of the world with both men. She even got to travel to Antarctica. She had a large group of cousins, many of whom were her closest friends, not only growing up, but also in her adult life.
She started working as a part time bank teller after her youngest sons bar mitzvah as something to do. She worked her way all the way up to become a vice president of the Manhattan branch of the bank in the financial district. What an accomplishment for someone without a college education.
Unfortunately, Lorraine was recently predeceased by her brother Marvin Minkoff. She leaves behind her daughter Debbi (Bruce) Yaffe, David (Christine) spring, Doug (Carol) spring and her grandchildren Gregory and Shaina Spring. She also leaves behind her niece Andrea Freeman, Gary (Cheryl) Minkoff and Bruce Minkoff as well as great nieces and nephew.
She had much adversity in her life but overcame it all until the end. She was one tough cookie!
