With profound sadness, we share the passing of Roger Andrew Strang DBA on February 10, 2026, in Delray Beach, Florida. Roger was not only a distinguished university administrator and professor, but also a beloved husband, father, grandfather, sibling, and friend. Born on March 23, 1945, in Balclutha, New Zealand, Roger’s journey took him across continents, where he touched countless lives through his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering dedication.
Roger’s passion for education and business was matched only by his generosity of spirit. He earned degrees from the University of Otago, Michigan State University, and Harvard University, and inspired students and colleagues at Quinnipiac College, University of Southern California, New York University, Columbia University, and many other institutions. His commitment to learning and mentorship left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him. Beyond his professional achievements, Roger found joy in squash, tennis, theatre, and golf, and was deeply involved in business and academic organizations.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Laurie Keegan of Delray Beach, Florida; his son, Justin Strang (spouse Tamara Staples) of Nelson, New Zealand; his daughter, Victoria Strang (spouse James Buchanan) of Providence, Rhode Island; and his four cherished grandchildren. Roger’s siblings—Marion Smith, Stewart Strang and Pam Strang, all of New Zealand – will all hold his memory close.
A memorial service celebrating Roger’s remarkable life will be held at Riverside Stanesky Memorial Chapels, 7205 W. Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach, FL on Thursday, February 26th, at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the GBS/CIDP Foundation, honoring Roger’s spirit of compassion and support for others.
Roger’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, and the many students whose lives he enriched. His warmth, wisdom, and love will be remembered always.
