She will be sorely missed by her loving children Carol Garr and husband C.J.; Connie Koffman and husband Bobby Eagles; Ken Koffman and wife Kathy; and daughter-in-law Donna Koffman. She will be fondly remembered as “Nana” by her cherished grandchildren Valerie (and husband Matt); Laura(and husband Willy), Dan (and wife Dana), Brian (and wife Sarah) and Dave (and wife Loredana). She will be dearly missed by her great-grandchildren Hadley, Claire, Harrison and Emma. Rosamond was predeceased by her beloved husband Harold, her brother Lee Kreindler and her youngest son Kevin Koffman. She will be affectionately remembered by many other family members, friends, and loved ones.
Born Rosamond Kreindler, she was known by many names, including Babe, Mom, and later on, as Nana. However, she was most commonly known as “Ronnie.” She grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where she graduated from Midwood High School. It was there in Brooklyn where she became an avid fan of her hometown Dodgers. A woman before her time, she was also a proud graduate of Syracuse University’s Class of 1948, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Drama. That same year, she married the love of her life Harold (Hal) Koffman at the Ritz-Carlton in Manhattan.
Ronnie and Hal moved to Lexington, Massachusetts, where they raised Carol,Connie, Ken, and Kevin. Even as a mother of four, Ronnie went back to school and studied at Northeastern University in Boston, receiving a Master’s Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Administration in 1967. She would go on to have an accomplished career as an educator.
In the early 1970s, they moved south to Miami, Florida. The family was just in time for the success, Super Bowls, and perfect season of their new hometown team, the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. Ronnie loved her family, and was “over-the-moon” for her grandchildren.
Ronnie loved to travel the world and experience new cultures and cuisines. Her and Hal moved up to Boynton Beach in the mid-90s, though sadly Hal passed away in 1997 after a battle with Parkinson’s disease. Though, for more than two decades, Ronnie continued to live an independent and full life, with her friends, family, and loved ones. She loved playing and watching golf, the Olympics, Disney World, cruises, and most of all, family gatherings and reunions.
Recently, there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with the next generation of Koffmans, her great-grandchildren. Ronnie was the epitome of a matriarch; she provided the family with steady guidance, endless love, and natural grace.
