Dorothy Joan Cecil Sands

The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home for visitation Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 7:30 – 9:30 P.M.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, June 11, 2012 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, West Bond at Juanita Drive, Denison, Texas with Rev. Earl Oglesbee officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 1501 Hwy. 91 N, Denison, TX 75020.

Pallbearers will be Tony Conejo Subias, Cody Horn, Andrew James McCarville, Bob Tillery, Jeff Harris and Marty Oglesbee.

Dorothy was born March 14, 1938 in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of John Garland Cecil and Offie Ann Gilliam Cecil. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Denison; was a registered nurse at Texoma Medical Center, Chapel of Care Nursing Home, Katy Hospital & Brentwood Nursing Home.

She is survived by son Charles David Sands & wife Patricia of Cartwright, Oklahoma; daughter Barbara Garvin & husband Dr. David Garvin of Denison; sister Evelyn Cantrell of Harrison, Arkansas; grandchildren Brandy Joan Conejo Subias, Sharee Harris, Lashawnda Glenn; great-grandchildren Alexia Hiberd, Justin Hiberd, Marshall Harris & Nataleigh Glenn.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Eldridge, Kenneth, Curtis, John & Carrol Cecil; sisters Joyce Scoggins, Lois Daniels; grandchildren Robert Lee Sands, Clifford Roy Garvin; great-grandchildren William Harris & Cheyenne Harris.
