Karen Denise Thompson

The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home for visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas.

Karen was born in Denison, Texas on Wednesday, March 14, 1956, the daughter of Frank Darnell, Jr. and Mildred Louise Adcock Darnell. She was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She loved Scottie Terriers, the outdoors, planting and roses.

She is survived by her husband Herbert Thompson, Jr.; father Frank Darnell, Jr.; sons Grant Leighty of Overland Park, Kansas, Franklin Adam Thompson of Denison; daughter Amanda Leighty of Richmond, Missouri; brother Darryl Darnell & wife Linda of Lake Dallas, Texas; sister Sharon Melton of Crowley, Texas; grandchildren Ariel Lashley and Aydenn Leighty.

She is preceded in death by her mother Mildred.
