Laura Beth Bengel Wakefield

Her courageous struggle with lung cancer ended on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at age 61. Laura was born in Denison, TX on August 29, 1952, the daughter of John W. Bengel and Patsy Ann Miller Bengel. She grew up in Denison and when she married William Wakefield, moved to Muskogee, OK where she devoted her life to her three children, Jason, Sean and Amie Lynn.

Laura is predeceased by her parents, her husband and her two sons, Sean and Jason.

Her survivors include her only daughter Amie, three beautiful grandchildren: Joshua, Lauryn and Abigail McBride who love their Nana very much. Also surviving are her brother John W. Bengel II, his wife Elsa and nieces Alison and Joanna and their families all of Boston, MA and her sister Mary Helen and husband Rev. Larry Thomas residing in Reno, NV and niece Amanda and family residing in East Bridgewater, MA.

A celebration of Laurie’s life will be held on Saturday, August 9 at the Memorial Park Mausoleum in Muskogee, Oklahoma at 11:00 A.M.
