Margaret Elizabeth Lance

Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, August 17, 2015 at Bratcher Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Denison, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Vest, Michael Vest, Dale Gouge, Dusty Combs, Joannie Smith and Jonathan Sutton.

Margaret was born Thursday, October 6, 1921 in Denison, Texas to D.M. Morse and Rose Heimburger Morse. She attended Central Ward School and Denson High School, where she graduated in 1938. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Primary III Sunday School in earlier years, for 18 years she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and Girls Aux Leader, for 15 years she worked at S.H. Kress until their closing, she spent 25 years working at Barrett Drug where she made many friends and also where she retired in 1996.

She was survived by her sister Betty Jean Vest of Denison, Texas; grandson David Michael Lance of Denison, Texas; nieces and nephews Kenny Vest and wife Cindy of La Conner, Washington, Debbie Combs and husband Dusty of Sherman, Texasm, Charles Vest and wife Marsha of Sherman, Texas, Michael Vest of Denison, Texas, Roseanne Pickett of Arlington, Texas, Mary Ann Gouge and husband Dale of Denison, Texas, Bobby Zehner and wife Kathy of Seattle, Washington, Barbara Novasotka of Fort Worth, Texas, Shirley Chilgreen and husband Bob of Tucson, Arizona, Norman Lance and wife Jamie of Bonham, Texas, Randy Lance and wife Jana of Denison, Texas; several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son David Lance, sisters Mell Anderson, Mary Rose Zehner, brothers Dan M. Morse, Edward Morse, niece Kathy Vest and nephew Bill Zehner.
