Dear Sogue Family,

I'm so sorry for your loss, I knew Assane since high school and although we went to 2 different ones we had a good friendship.  That friendship continued as we grew into young adults and when we ran into each other at the gym or downtown at the club it was always love from both sides. He always knew how to make someone laugh as he was always cracking jokes on people "Roasting" them. I'll never forget the trash talking on the soccer field but all in good spirit. The news hit me like a ton of bricks as I was told over the phone being locked up. I wish I could have made it and I'm sorry as your friend for not being there... but to your Mom, Dad, and Your 2 sisters I ask you to live life to the fullest for Assane because we know Assane wouldn't want it any other way! You know he's watching over all of us but especially over his family. GOD BLESS YOU GUYS, and REST IN PARADISE MY BROTHER!

My Condolences

I love Assane with all my heart, I wish I had met his family under better circumstances but you all are beautiful and he loved you dearly and always spoke highly of you. It meant so much to get a big hug from you after I spoke, I will hold you in my heart closely. Those who have the biggest impact leave the biggest voids and he was one of a kind. It wont be easy but he will find a way to give us the strength to continue. I'm always here for you guys.

Assane always loved my PB cup Christmas cookies and for several years, I would pack some up for Daniel to bring to him on Christmas day. I always made sure to make enough so that Assane could have his batch. Christmas would never be complete without me sending those cookies. Every year that I make them, I will remember him fondly.

Dear Laketch, Alioune, Sally, Titi and family - 

Assane will be so dearly missed by our family. We will always remember him as genuine, kind, and with a smile that lit up the room. He had such a great sense of humor with perfect timing. He was the first friend that our son Daniel met upon his transition to Colorado, and I know that it made it so much easier for him and for us. 

He was always so respectful to me and my husband, Ren. I have many great memories of Assane throughout the years. He will always be remembered fondly. He was just one of those rare people that was simply unforgettable. He made a big impression. We will love and hold him in our hearts forever.
