Carol’s life carried her across many communities—Sterling, Colorado; Wichita, Kansas; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas; Spokane, Washington; Kansas City, Missouri; and ultimately Littleton, Colorado—each place adding to a steady, grounded life shaped by devotion to family and a quiet strength.
She worked at Ramey Electric and ABE, INC, bringing to her days the same dependable spirit that marked every part of her life—practical, faithful, and guided by care for others.
Carol was married in Wichita, Kansas, on the 27th of Oct 1956, and she shared her life with her spouse, Celestine Dater. Through the years, she built a home defined by warmth and constancy, offering love in ways that were never complicated—simply present, simply true.
She is survived by her children: Terry Dater & wife Debbie, and Stephen Dater & wife Barb. She is also survived by her grandkids: Jenny Bogue & husband Henry, Stephanie Price, Katy Dater, Tyler Dater & wife Ashley; and her great grandkids: Amanda Goodwin & Thomas Goodwin, Cashton Brailsford & Caden Brailsford.
She is also survived by her siblings: Leonard Comstock and Michael Comstock, and Joann (Jody) Dorris; and her sister-in-law: Lucy Dater.
Also surviving are nephews, nieces, and in-laws: Paul Clark; Joyce Mosley & husband Earl; David Dater; Patti Boyles & son Jake; Debbi Wright; John Dater; Chad Comstock & wife Nicole & their daughters Karaline & Kendall; Kori McCall & husband Jeff & their daughters Andie, Ruthie & Macie.
Carol is also remembered with gratitude by her friends: Calvin & Anita Winright, Tammy Winright, Kathy Moore, and Andrea.
Carol found joy in the everyday pleasures that brought people together. She loved all sports, with baseball and soccer holding a special place in her heart. She also loved birds, and she loved most of all dogs—companions that matched her gentle, affectionate nature and the quiet kindness she offered so freely.
Three words sum up her life: Simple, Loving, Kind.

A Reception will follow at Olinger Hampden Mortuary, 8600 E. Hampden Ave., Denver, CO 80321, on May 22, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
Carol’s final resting place will be at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery in Denver.
