Conrad Joseph Cichos

Con, as he was known by family and friends, was a loving son, husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was born in Grandin, North Dakota on June 1, 1950, the son of Lawrence and Dorothy Cichos. After high school, Con served in the 82nd Airborne Division, and was honorably discharged in May of 1971. While in the service, he returned to North Dakota to marry the love of his life, Alyce Roehrich. They celebrated their 51st anniversary June 6th.

Conrad joined the police force in 1971 in Jamestown, North Dakota, where he was named patrolman of the year before he moved to Colorado. Eventually, he joined the Aurora police department until his retirement in 2012.

Conrad was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence, brother, Gary, and 3 grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alyce, children Russell (Kaye), Victoria Banks (Sherwyn), David (Rosario), Jonathan (Shasity), Rebecca Fox (Nathan), Conrad, Jr. (Shonelle), Matthew (Monique), Virginia Fullerton (Joseph), Thomas (Elizabeth), 57 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy, brothers, Dennis and Steve, and sister, Debbie Maddock.

Viewings will be held on Wednesday, October 6th, at 5pm, as well as Thursday, the 7th, at 9:30am, at Saint Isidore’s Roman Catholic Church, 32100 E. Colfax Service Road; both viewings will be accompanied by the Rosary. A Solemn High Mass on the day of burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 7th at 11 a.m. at St. Isidore’s. The burial at St. Isidore’s Cemetery will immediately follow the Mass.

Con was a devout Roman Catholic and member of St. Isidore’s Parish and the Holy Name Society. The Mass was the most important part of every day for him; in lieu of flowers, please have Masses said for the repose of his soul. A fund has been established for the completion of the Rose window at St. Isidore’s; please contribute in memory of Conrad Cichos, Sr.
