Dale D. Wolfinbarger

He was born on July 6, 1949, in West Jefferson, NC, the son of William Williams and Francis Lucille McPike. After his mother’s move to Denver and remarriage, he was adopted by Alan Wolfinbarger in 1956. He attended St. Francis de Sales School.

Dale married Karen Murphy in Denver on Nov. 14, 1967. Daughter Gina was born in 1968 and son Jim in 1969. Dale graduated from the Denver Institute of Technology with a degree in electronics in 1977. Over the years Dale worked for Radio Service Center, MaComCo and Motorola. He retired from Motorola in 1999. He later worked and operated his own electronics and home service business until 2010.

An avid fly fisherman, Dale enjoyed taking his family and friends to rivers and streams throughout Colorado and Wyoming. His favorite activity was teaching his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews how to fish and go camping. Dale was also an avid Denver Broncos fan all his life and readily shared his enthusiasm.

Dale never tired of fixing things around the house – from putting in decks and hardwood floors to remodeling basements. He always was ready to help his family and friends with projects or services, putting their needs above his own.

He was preceded in death by his birth father and his mother, Frances McPike Trusty. Also step-brothers Doug and Bobby Turner.

Dale is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter Gina (Chase) Van Dyne of Holland, MI; Jim (Gina) Wolfinbarger of Castle Rock, CO; grandchildren Mason, Makenna, Dalton and Peyton; father Alan (Patricia) Wolfinbarger of Denver, CO; brothers Mark (Mary) Wolfinbarger of Oceanside, CA, Patrick (Jane) Wolfinbarger of Laramie, WY, William Wolfinbarger of Falmouth, MA, and step-brother Jim (Michelle) Turner of Denver, CO; niece Lyra Wolfinbarger Woods (Christopher); nephews Lee, Peter, Aaron, Matthew, Adam, Evan and Ryan; and cousins Peggy Coleman, Sharon (Chuck) Fraley, Linda Marling and Mike McPike.

Also, mother-in-law Marion Chandler; sisters and brother in-laws, nieces and nephews including Mary Murphy; Christopher, Diane Austin and Rachel; and Elisabeth Valdez and Burton; Sheila and Les and Tristan Rainey; Bill and Arlene Murphy; Rena Murphy (Tyler) Engle; Jolie Murphy and Joe Stanton (fiancée); David, Deb and Emma Murphy; Bill, Trish, Bernard, Billy and James Chandler; and Linda, DJ, Kevin and Steven Grubb.
