I had the pleasure of caring for Denise off and on for the past year. Denise and Art became so dear.  Denise was a fighter and Art was her advocate and "fixer" of all things. Both were admired so much. I am sad Denise will not enjoy Art's garden and yard this Spring. That was a major goal to sit outside and enjoy his work. 

Art, you've done a phenomenal job as a caregiver. I know the following days will hold much sadness but know you gave your best as did the rest of the family.

denise was a great lady And friend I remember her spending time with Artie her son before we got married one day a week watching a movie and having dinner she also left to go. Up to the hill in Blackhawk with her daughter she loved having the holidays off to spend time with art and her family Denise and I work together for several years great woman.  She will be dearly missed thank you. Denise also taught me when eating hot Mexican food. You could put raw sugar on your lips and tongue and it'll instantly take the heat away. This actually works she learned this from her mother in law ha ha

We send our heartfelt sympathy to Art and his family.  Denise showed  great courage in her health struggles.  We’ll do anything you may need during this time of grief. 
      

This was such a beautiful day, all the ladies of my family.  That's the smile I remember always warm and bright smile. I will always remember.

Art and Denise moved in a few months before we did.    In our 8 years of friendship, we met each others' children, shared many opinions, looked forward to seeing the doors open and -- there they were!   Often John and I were in the Valdez driveway when Denise came home from work.   Art's face just lit up seeing her coming, and it was such a happy time to share.    Artie and Alyssa were so often here and so clearly loved every moment with their parents, and vice versa.   Jen was family,  for sure.   We are  lucky to have come from our different  places and to land in their company.    Denise has flown away,  but I won't forget her bravery and good cheer no matter her challenges.    I miss my favorite smart,  driveway-political-analyst, I miss her laugh, expressions, opinions, honesty and commitment to the best life for herself and her family.    Soar Denise, Soar. I had the absolute pleasure of being Denise’s home nurse for over a year and grew quite close to Denise and Art.  After a short time, it began to feel like family. Denise and I would share stories and memories; she was a proud mother and a grateful wife. She was more than my patient, she was my friend, and I’m deeply saddened to no longer have the privilege of caring for her. I’ll miss chatting with her and Art, and playing with little Jake, while Josie kept mama safe. I find comfort in knowing she is reunited with family who preceded her, and with our Father in heaven.  To Art, Alyssa, and Art Jr: you were her greatest love and the very essence of her life. Thank you for letting me be a part of it. ❤️

My dear neighbor our heart  goes out to you and your family.  Wishing you strength and comfort during these difficult days.

The Valdez family have been treasured neighbors and friends as long as I have lived behind them (2014).  I will sorely miss my friend Denise and I want the family to know how much  I love and value their friendship.

I will continue to keep the family in prayer.
