Edith Arlene Scott

Arlene attended college at Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma where she earned a degree in Education.

Arlene taught elementary school in Kansas for several years.

On June 1, 1958, Arlene married Charles Scott from Deer Trail, Colorado. They had two children, Gayle and Paul.

Arlene taught school at the Deer Trail School from 1969 – 1989. She taught kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade during the years at the school,

After retiring from teaching, Arlene moved to Aurora where she worked in various positions at Wal-Mart for 23 years, retiring in 2013.

Arlene was an avid reader and also enjoyed watching many sporting events on television.

She was a member of the Friends Community Church for many years. Since retirement, she was a member of the Gateway Christian Church in Aurora, Colorado.

Arlene is survived by her daughter, Gayle Callanan and her husband, Tim of Aurora, Colorado, a son, Paul, and a sister Jackie Collison of North Bend, Oregon, and sister-in-laws, Evelyn Stephens of Marionville, Missouri, Ruby Patterson of Udall, Kansas, Colleen Carson of Wellington, Kansas and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles, and brother, Neal.

Per Arlene’s request, there will be no services. In Arlene’s memory, the family asks that donations be made to the Evergreen Cemetery (in Deer Trail), the Deer Ambulance (Deer Trail, CO 80105) or the Gateway Christian Church, 14700 E. Mississippi Ave, Aurora, CO 80012
