I am looking up old names from the past.

Mrs. Herron comes up.  She seems to have left us only recently.

I'm sure she is the same Mrs. Herron who taught at Washington Heights Elementary in Lakewood, CO, in 1955. The name's the same.  The dates are right.

I didn't have her as a teacher; I had Mrs. Haze next door.

But I remember Mrs. Herron so well.  Such a lovely woman.  1000% for the kids, all the time.

She made it a point to know me, even though I wasn't in her class.

I never recall any of her class saying anything bad about her.

She was just your dedicated, old fashioned school teacher, whom you would never forget.

All should remember her as a blessing.

Mrs. Herron was a great teacher and taught quite a few of my siblings and other family members. What a great legacy to leave behind...

Mrs. Herron was my first grade teacher many moons ago (I'm almost 50), at Lawrence Elementary.  She taught me to read and write and cared for me as only a kind, respectable, gentle teacher would.  I haven't kept in touch with her over the years, as I didn't think she'd remember me, but, I have kept up with news of her through my mother, Audrey Brown.  My mom often enjoyed her company at the Lawrence staff luncheons.  I'm glad to know Mrs. Herron lived a nice long life and had family and friends around her supporting her to the end.  My thoughts, prayers and sympathy go out to all of you....her family and friends.  She will be greatly missed!  They don't make teachers quite like her any more!

We all love you and will miss you very much Grandma.
