

He was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 30th 1944 to Max and Lillian Furst. He graduated from Temple City High School in 1963. Jim joined the United States Air Force after graduation and was in the field of computer maintenance & Logistics. He had a long career with Hughes Aircraft/Raytheon Corporation, retiring after 28 years in June of 2006.
He had a passion for the Denver Broncos, fishing, bowling, watching television and a good whiskey. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Melody Furst, daughter Christy McCray and son-in-law Joshua McCray of Aurora, CO, son Brian Furst of Costa Mesa, California, grandson Matthew Lippincott, granddaughters Heaven McCray & Maryssa McCray, and sisters Dolores Woodward & Phyllis Evans of California, along with numerous friends.
His committal service will be held Thursday, December 31st, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Staging Area “B” 4400 W. Kenyon Ave.

Friends and family are encouraged to wear Denver Broncos attire in celebration of his life. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory.
